IEEE @ IIIT-H

The Chairman Kirti Garg addressed the meeting and stated the agenda for the meeting which was as follows.

 

1) Brainstorming on possible events that we can have during this session.

2) Formation of the standing committee.

 

The meeting started with a discussion on how the branch mentor could help the banch which was in the form of a query put forward by the chairman Kirti Garg to the mentor Padmaprabodh. Mr. Padmaprabodh made everybody present aware of the contribution that is possible from his side and also from the head office side. Then a proposal for having a standing committee for the specific task of getting more memberships from students was put and approved. It was also decided that the committee would not be referred to as a standing committee but would be apart of the executive committee itself as it is planned that it would be there for the entire session.

 

Next was discussed the IIIT IEEE website. It was proposed by the mentor Mr Padmaprabodh to replicate the IEEE IIIT website which is currently on the IIIT server to IEEE server. He stated that he would talk to the concerned authorities for the same. The mentor and Dr NDR both stated the requirement of getting the Annual reprts prepared describing the actvites of last sessionand those which are planned to be held in next session and send them along with the list of the student members of IIIT to region 10 office and students' activites chairman.

 

Then came up the discussion on various events that could be possibly organized in this session. Many good ideas were proposed by all the members present few of them being:

 

1) Have workshops on web technologies, robotics, games s/w and so on.

 

2) Have some social events for the members and if feasible for other students like trip to space research center in Shri harikota, Hill climbing etc.

 

3) Regular talks by faculty of IIIT and young researchers from out.

 

Lastly there was also a discussion on how students can be urged to come forward to get IEEE membership or get them renewed.

 

The meeting was concluded by the chairperson Kirti Garg who along with the other executive members promised to have a good show this session too.
